Dr. Jon Urheim

Jon Urheim is a faculty member in the Physics Department at Indiana University, since 2003.  His B.S. and Ph.D. degrees are from MIT and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively.  Before moving to Indiana, he held a postdoctoral position at Caltech and a faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota.  His area of research is high-energy particle physics.  He has worked on experiments at accelerator facilities at Brookhaven Lab, Cornell University, Fermilab, and CERN on questions related to the quark and lepton flavor structure of elementary particles.  These include studies of mesons containing heavy quarks, tau lepton physics, searches for rare and forbidden processes, and measurements of neutrino flavor oscillations.  He lives in Bloomington with his wife (also a physics professor at IU) and two teenage children.
